Celestron CGX Mount Accessories Part 2
thingiverse
Hello everyone, I have always been looking for storage place for the three big bolts holding the CGX mount on the tripod. Same thing for my glasses, so far no right place to keep them safe. Despite I have extended the space of the accessory tray with a wooden construction, I was looking for another storage capability so that bolts & glasses are not mixed up with the eyepieces. This is why I have designed two little brackets, which are mounted at the top of each tripod leg thanks to M5 bolt. Those brackets hold then both holder, thanks to M3 bolts & nuts. Actually each tripod legs has few threaded holes, which can be used to attach thoses brackets. The CGX bolts holder has four holes: three for the CGX ones, and one bigger for the security bolt of the counterweight shaft. The glasses holder does its job for the moment. Maybe I will improve its design in the future or print it with fluorescent material to help grabbing the glasses in the dark. (see my other design "Fluorescent Caps for Telescope Eyepieces, Focuser"). Everything has been printed with PETG. My 3D Printer is a Ender 5 Plus. Eventually you need to widen stuff, depending on your own printer tolerances. At least it gives you some insperations to make your own.
