Celestron CGEM Polar Axis collar

Celestron CGEM Polar Axis collar

This is a threaded insert for the polar axis of a Celestron CGEM mount. I use it to hold my laser pointer to facilitate polar alignment. It can only get you close - but it makes for a good starting point. It is designed to match the threads on the tube that accepts the standard Celestron polar axis finder scope (m28x1). I have sized the internal hole to provide a very tight fit for my laser pointer (23.5 mm diameter). Print slowly to prevent stringing on threads. I have included the Freecad design file for someone who has a different diameter laser pointer. Simply resize cylinder 003 ( note that it accepts the radius, not the diameter ) and then cut cylinder 003 from the fusion.
