Celestron 8" Hyperstar Cable Management
thingiverse
I use a Celestron EdgeHD 8" scope with Hyperstar and ZWO ASI294 for astrophotography/EAA. However, the cables to communicate with and power the camera must run in front of the corrector plate, causing spikes in the images. While searching online, I came across another project that implements a similar concept: routing the USB and power cable for Celestron SCT's with Starizona Hyperstar using a 180-degree arc to avoid spikes. The design is identical but offers a more robust solution. My design maintains a 4mm width of the arc even when using flat USB3 cables from ZWO, which are included with all their cameras. In contrast, the original design has a tendency to tip, increasing the obstruction amount. You can either glue the cables to the arc using contact cement or "Goop" or use electrical tape. However, electrical tape may not hold up over time and leave a sticky mess on the parts. If you need STL's for other scopes, please provide the following information: * The diameter of the front ring of the OTA * The thickness of the front ring of the OTA * The diameter of the Hyperstar
