Celestron 5SE Dust Cap

Celestron 5SE Dust Cap

thingiverse

This 3D-printable dust cap fits a Celestron 5SE (127 mm diameter) Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope, designed to secure perfectly in place with its six little tapered "nubs." You can quickly adapt this design for telescopes of different sizes by scaling the STL - just check the inside clear diameter of your telescope's objective and ensure the "nubs" are slightly larger in diameter. The tapered fit should securely hold it in position. If you prefer, the original parametric CAD model is available in my OnSpace account under "Celestron 5SE Dust Cap," waiting to be searched up at https://www.onshape.com/. Print Settings Rafts: Doesn't matter. Supports: No. Notes: Printed with PLA here, but ABS might do the trick for you - if your printer can handle it. Be prepared for a large thin part that demands excellent first-layer calibration and printing without warping or edge lift. Printing with a Brim may help prevent the model from lifting off during print. How I Designed This Get access to the original parametric CAD model in my OnSpace account - search for "Celestron 5SE Dust Cap" on https://www.onshape.com/. There, you can personalize all dimensions to match your telescope's unique needs.
