CEL-Robox Camera Mount

CEL-Robox Camera Mount

This is a remix of a design by Simon Hoult over on the Robox Forum (http://www.cel-robox.com/members/simonhoult/). He didn't complete the design, but was kind enough to give me the 3D model that he had started working on. I cleaned up the design and customized it for a camera that I already had available. The idea is to take advantage of the USB connector and space available inside the CEL-Robox printer. Simon had designed an enclosure that fit nicely into the space, so I redesigned the interior of the enclosure with mounting provisions for a UbiSoft Hercules camera board and USB cable. I was able to purchase several cameras on Amazon for $1.50 each plus shipping, and then disassembled one of the cameras and simply used the board. The enclosure has a spot for a USB connector, which will plug directly into the Robox. To make it fit, I had to cut and splice the USB cable to shorten it and remove some of the plastic and cable strain relief. The video quality could be better, but it meets my current needs and it is very cheap. If I find a better camera, I will probably update the design. Here's a link to a video of the camera in action - https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7CcSSOoQEOBR0xXcC0ycHZrZTA I included the design files so that others might modify it for their choice of camera.
