Ceiling Light Shade
thingiverse
This two-shade ceiling fixture works seamlessly with those affordable, two-bulb fixtures commonly found in many bedrooms without ceiling fans. Growing tired of gazing at bare bulbs, I decided to create this innovative solution. I designed two shades to keep prints compact enough for small beds and ensured that all parts can be printed without supports or brims. Depending on the length of the ceiling to the mount base at the bottom, you may need to trim a bit from the top of the shroud model in your slicer or simply use it without the shroud. The shroud's primary function is to conceal the unsightly metal fixture. Disclaimer: I should note that even using compact fluorescent bulbs instead of LED bulbs may generate excessive heat for your filament, although my shades have withstood CFLs thus far. However, others' filaments may not be so resilient... I would never recommend incandescent bulbs due to their excessive heat output! On the other hand, LED bulbs are now widely available and offer significant cost savings in electricity consumption while emitting minimal heat. I'm thrilled about the future of technology!
