This is a custom bracket engineered to redistribute the weight of a standard 4x10-inch ceiling HVAC register, cleverly diverting it away from the factory screw hole without any need for modifications to the register itself. The impetus behind this design was damage to my ceiling drywall, which rendered the original factory holes incapable of securely holding up the register.
