Either the installer misplaced it or it was never installed, but I had a ceiling fan with a remote that lacked a holder to mount on the wall. Other rooms have one near the light switch for their fans. I eventually decided to repair this missing component and used other units as design inspirations. I'm unsure if this will be helpful to others since I don't know how much variation exists in ceiling fan remote controls, even within brands. The fan in question was a Hampton Bay brand purchased from Lowe's.
