Ceiling Fan Balancing Clip
thingiverse
Just a simple ceiling fan balancing clip to balance your wobbly ceiling fan. The kits at your local hardware store sometimes come with sticky weights, but if you read the reviews, the weights sometimes become projectiles. The clips seem to work better. Adjust size/scale for your needs when printing. If you need more weight, make it thicker--less weight, thinner. If your fan blades are thicker, make the clip bigger or taller. Etc. Print using a filament that is more resistant to creep over time, like PETG or Nylon. PLA definitely creeps and does not maintain its shape, so the clip will get wider over time and eventually no longer grip and become a projectile. You could add some adhesive to prevent it from flying off the fan blade once you determine the proper location. Use your favorite search engine for instructions on how to balance your ceiling fan using these balancing clips. Basically, it is mostly trial and error. Follow online instructions and only install on the trailing side of the fan blade so it is less likely to become a projectile. Use at your own risk.
