ceiling canopy
thingiverse
A ceiling canopy for my new lamp design. Printed in copper-PLA and sanded on the ridges. Print Settings Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer: Ultimaker Original Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.15 mm Infill: no Notes: I designed a unique structure instead of using a traditional support system, adding ridges to the inside of the canopy for added stability. A small base was also created for good adhesion on the printer bed and can be removed after printing. Post-Printing Sanding the copper PLA The surface tone of the copper-PLA material is enhanced after smoothing the ribs with a file and sandpaper. I used this process to create a smooth finish on the canopy. How I Designed This Designed with FreeCAD To add visual interest, I projected a self-designed "mandala" pattern onto the surface of the half-sphere and then extruded it.
