Pollen from the majestic Cedar of Lebanon (Cedrus libani), a coniferous giant in the Pinaceae family, carries itself with purpose and determination. Like its pine counterpart, cedar pollen boasts two clever air sacs designed to facilitate effortless travel between trees. A technical expert's description of Cedrus pollen, courtesy of PalDat (Halbritter, 2016), reveals large heteropolar monads that are bisaccate and oblate, elliptical in polar view, with a delicate leptoma and a textured exine featuring verrucate, fossulate, and perforate characteristics. This detailed model is an integral part of the innovative 3D Pollen Project.
