CD-Rom Motor Pump derivative

thingiverse

This CD-Rom motor pump derivative, available at thingiverse.com/thing:4881, features screw mounting and a 6mm circular outlet. A YouTube video demonstrates its functionality (http://youtu.be/us2KlyBPEaU). Future improvements may eliminate screws and support material needs. Follow these steps to assemble your pump: 1) Print the parts; oil support material around the shaft for easier removal later. 2) Remove support material from the housing where the shaft goes, allowing the motor to rest flat. 3) Secure the motor with two small screws, adjusting if necessary. 4) Insert the impeller on the motor shaft without rubbing. 5) Sand down impeller blades until they fit snugly in the housing. 6) Seal the lid with hot glue. 7) Test waterproofness and consider using the pump as a generator. Be cautious of overuse to preserve motor life.
