CD-Rom Motor Pump

CD-Rom Motor Pump

I adapted Madox's Mini Centrifugal Pump, found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4839, to make it suitable for printing on a MakerBot without any support material. The design was simplified and optimized for efficient use of the machine. I also engineered a modification that allows an old CD-Rom drive motor to power the pump seamlessly. These motors are readily available and consistent in size, making them easily sourced by anyone with experience in disassembling electronic devices. In the accompanying photos, a 6-volt motor is being powered by a 3.5-volt battery; it's logical to assume that increasing the power output would lead to more efficient water circulation.
