Mount your cellphone holder/charger in the CD player slot by attaching a phone cradle. I bought a wireless car charger with a phone mount https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Proelio-Wireless-Car-Charger-Phone-Holder-for-iPhone-8-X-for-Samsung-Galaxy-S6-S7-S8/32844712249.html designed to clamp onto the vent, but my Peugeot 206cc has vents that don't fit. Since I don't want my phone in front of the vent, I made this CD slot adapter; I never use CDs anyway, as I play music from my phone via Bluetooth. You won't need glue for assembly - friction holds it in place once inserted into the CD player slot. This device is specifically designed for my 2005 Peugeot 206cc with a Clarion CD player, but should work fine on other 2005 models or any Peugeot model, whether left-hand drive or right-hand drive. It may also be compatible with many other car makes and models. Specific factors that could make it incompatible are the overhang above the radio (15mm above the slot, 18mm deep at a 15-degree angle on my car) and the location of buttons below the slot (8mm below the slot, with a 4mm gap 53mm from the right side). The buttons are asymmetrical in relation to the slot. [Edit 7 Jun 2018] I didn't like the first version because there was play between the parts, causing it to wobble around. Glue might have helped, but I still think the phone holder position is limited. So I designed and printed Version 2, which consists of only two pieces that are clamped (or glued) together. Before trying V2, I decided I don't like it... the phone looks too far away from the dash, so I think it will wobble about. I uploaded this version in case someone prefers it. [12 June 2018] Added some photos of V2. The red/pink parts are a glued patch due to my printer stopping 8mm before finishing that part. If you look closely, you'll see a fair amount of hot glue used to reinforce the part and minimize wobble. With the clamp near the bottom of the attachment, the phone is as close to the dash as possible. [25 June 2018] Version 3 is here. This has two parts like V2 but features a 17mm ball on each part, replacing the clamp from the phone holder and putting the printed ball into the socket on the back of the phone holder. It also adds more asymmetry, placing the phone at the right-hand end of the CD slot rather than near the middle. This means it's not above the gear shift and is closer in a right-hand drive car. However, this isn't ideal for left-hand drive cars. The design also includes more detail on the slot, which is narrower at the ends than in the middle. I tried Version 3 in my car - no wobble! But the support under the ball is in completely the wrong place. Every bump in the road changes the radio station. [15 July 2018]. V4 has been redesigned from scratch. The main improvement is a couple of little hooks at the ends of the slot insert that catch into recesses behind the fascia of the CD player, ensuring it doesn't fall out of the player. To make this work, the join between the two parts is sloped at 30 degrees. Insert the right-hand part first and then the left-hand part at the left-hand end, rotating it into place. The socket clamp of the phone holder holds both parts together. A little bit of wobble has returned, and I want to move the phone another 10mm right and down, so I'll be working on V4.1. [23 July 2018]. V4.1 - the ball is centered above the gap between the buttons, with a small brace in that gap. It's also 10mm lower and perhaps 5mm further forward. This is as far forward as it can go. There's no wobble, and it's clear of my hands and fingers when I change gear or use the indicators. While having a better range of movement for the ball joint would be nice, this is good enough for me.
