CD multi color light

I was inspired to create this project after seeing an Instructable that used a LED strip. Slow-fade LEDs don't require a resistor to limit current as long as the power supply doesn't exceed 3.5 volts, and they're often very affordable. The constantly changing colors are reflected beautifully on the CD surface. A ring covers the wiring for a clean look. By adding a clock, this DIY project can become fully functional.
