This is an adapter to attach the original airbox boots to 54mm pods. The intention of the design is to leverage the smooth airflow characteristics of the original airbox boots to ensure that no part of the carb throat is blocked for improved throttle response. You will need to trim the airbox boots to use for this design or purchase a new set from eBay. I printed in PETG and do not expect any issues with heat in this application. This should work with any of the DOHC motorcycles from the early 80s that uses 54mm pods. Cylinder 1 & 4 boots have a weird angle, but I'm using them with no issues. You will also need to rejet for pods. Mine works really well with these jets purchased separately (ie not in a kit): slow jet: 38 primary: 80 secondary: 120 Requires supports, Brim is optional. I am not using a clamp on the union because it's very secure but you can use a clamp if you choose to have that extra bit of sealing. These resolved a slide flutter I was experiencing opening the throttle at low RPM (hard acceleration). Without the adapters, the flutter would result in a hesitation before accelerating but the flutter is 98% eradicated. I can hear it *slightly* but no longer feel it affecting acceleration. This design also greatly reduces surging when riding in a crosswind.
