Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore
thingiverse
The Duomo of Florence, Italy's main church, is the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore. Construction started in 1296 and was not finished until 1436. Until modern times, its dome was the largest in the world. It still holds this title as the biggest brick dome ever built. I chose this cathedral for several reasons: its breathtaking beauty, intricate complexity, and impressive scale considering the time period of its construction. In fact, I've often thought about designing this stunning structure myself. The reference photos provided acted as guidelines to help me design my version of the Duomo. My model is not an exact replica, but feel free to compare it with the original! The purpose of posting two STL files was to allow viewers to see both the exterior and interior of this magnificent building from any angle they prefer. I've been trying to print my model for over two days now, but unfortunately, I'm facing some issues. A damaged part and a clog in my printer have prevented me from completing the print on time. I need to fix these problems before I can proceed. If I can manage to get my printer working again, I'll be happy to share photos of the 3D printed model. My design was created entirely using Google Sketchup Make. It took a lot of effort and patience to complete this project, but I'm confident in its quality. I encourage you to print it and let me know if there are any issues. If needed, I'll be happy to modify the file accordingly. Please share your photos if you decide to print my design! I'd love to see how others enjoy my work.
