Catrike Expedition 2009 - SKS Bluemels rear fender clip

I recently encountered an issue with my rear SKS Bluemel fender being extremely loose and wobbly without any support in the middle. Initially, I resorted to using some zip ties to hold the mid-mount fender clip in place, but a custom bracket to attach it to the headrest on my 2009 Catrike Expedition proved far cleaner and stiffer. Indeed, you could probably use an appropriately sized nylon P-clip cable mount, but this custom solution fits perfectly! I didn't need to shim it or leave it wobbling around. To secure the clip, I used a short #10 screw with a nylon lock nut. Note that I placed the fender clip in the middle of my printed clip as it felt like the right spot to put it. Unfortunately, you have to disassemble the headrest to insert this clip, but that was the only difficulty I encountered. You might need to loosen the headrest mount as well (I only loosened one side) to reassemble it. For the front of the fender, I created two small metal L brackets to attach it to the frame. Since strength was my main concern there, I opted not to design a 3D printed mount for that connection. If you'd like more details on that attachment, feel free to leave a message. Happy Cycling!
