This dynamic cat toy careens and teeters unpredictably, bursting with potent catnip! It boasts an asymmetrical design, with the shorter end nearly solid to add weight and stabilize the toy so it will roll smoothly. As it rolls, any sideways wobble alters the diameter of the "wheel," causing it to careen, turn, and wobble erratically. The catnip is added by momentarily pausing the print, trapping it securely inside. Print with the perforated end facing downwards, pausing at a Z height of approximately 55mm. Add the catnip using a funnel if necessary, gently tamping it down before resuming the print. Use lightly moistened dried catnip for two essential reasons: to prevent the catnip from being blown around by the extruder fan and to prevent it from becoming too dry over the heated bed. Before starting the print, spread the dried catnip on a piece of scrap paper and lightly mist with clean water using a spray bottle. Avoid getting it soggy; aim for a light, even dampness. I didn't measure the catnip precisely, but I estimate about a heaping tablespoon or so for each toy. Remove the print promptly to prevent the catnip from drying out excessively in your 3D printing area's heated environment. Print with any rigid material that can render 1mm holes. I used PET-G for mine (specifically, nGen and colorFabb-HT), but PLA would also be a suitable choice. A material with a strong odor, like ABS, might not appeal to your cat's sensitive nose. Use standard print settings for your chosen material. To achieve optimal balance, try an infill of around 75%.
