Cathinone, with its chemical formula C9H11NO and CAS number 71031-15-7, also known as benzoylethanamine or beta-keto-amphetamine, is an alkaloid native to the Catha edulis shrub, commonly referred to as khat. Chemically, cathinone shares similarities with ephedrine, cathine, methcathinone, and other amphetamines. For thousands of years, North African and Arabian Peninsula communities have cultivated khat, often harvesting it for its euphoric effects when chewed. This practice triggers a surge in dopamine release and hampers the reabsorption of epinephrine, norepinephrine, and serotonin within the central nervous system (CNS). The model features cathinone represented through three standard formats: surface, molecular, and spatial structure, each visualizing unique aspects of this molecule. In addition, a simulated electrostatic surface and an editable C4D scene with primitive and metaball objects provide comprehensive representation. The .stl and .obj files included have been exported from C4D R20 without modification for accuracy.
