Caterpillator
thingiverse
This printable robot boasts tank-like gear wheels and links, developed as part of a project at UC3M university. It features all necessary components, with additional pages showcasing modifications made by others, particularly to the links. The project is ongoing, with some pieces parametrized while others are still pending development. The creators, Olalla Bravo and Daniel Gómez, express gratitude to Obijuan for printing the pieces and offering useful advice, as well as to their professor Alberto for his guidance and support. Individual pages for each component include gear wheels and links (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7209), chassis (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7681), and parametric gear wheels (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7794). An update features a video of the robot in motion, with recent changes to the chassis including four drills for holding the PIC with the microcontroller that controls the servos above the chassis. The instructions provide details on parts and assembly, including the chassis and wheels. Suggestions for improvements include using silicone or rubbery spray to increase traction on the links.
