Caterham 7 with Parallel Architecture

grabcad

The Caterham 7 undergoes a modification featuring Parallel Architecture. The original design houses an Inline4 engine longitudinally in a mid-center position. With this innovative architecture, aerodynamics, habitability, and driver visibility are enhanced. The driver's position is shifted forward, preserving the sports car's dynamics. Conceptualized by Prasanta K Goutam, the design integrates powertrain elements from "Mechanics Basic Super Seven" by Javier. In Parallel Architecture, the engine is positioned parallel to the driver's legs within the central dashboard. To fit this compact space, the engine must be inline and longitudinal, with auxiliary components arranged in series. Routine maintenance tasks are performed from the hood as in conventional cars, while access to the cylinder heads area is available through a hatch on the central dashboard.
