My granddaughter just turned four. I made this for her to celebrate her birthday. It is designed to help children learn the value of generosity and financial wisdom. The piggy bank features a large section for spending money and two smaller ones for sharing, gifts, or donations and saving. This gets kids started thinking in budget categories. I have been making and selling these as Christmas gifts for neighborhood parents. They are easily customizable if you wish to import the "Spend" top into your favorite design software and add a name to it. If you want to change the wording on the top, I've also included blank versions. Assembly is straightforward. I used super glue on the inside ridges and dividing wall and snapped the tops down into place. The plugs screw into the bottom and become flush. They can be used with a coin or with the "key". Depending on the color I was printing, the key was a tight fit. My rotary fixed that issue, but you might want to scale the key down by a percentage. Also included is a plug thread tool that I used to loosen up the threads and make sure there were no burs in them. It was easier to use and get the threads started than the flat plugs themselves. If you flip the bottom plug over before printing three of them, you get a better finish inside the slot for the key. The CC license is non-commercial, which means not selling these items on a large scale. However, if you wish to make them as gifts for family and friends or something similar, feel free to do so. I'd love to see what you come up with and the different color combinations you create, so please share your makes! This design does not require supports or rafting. But be prepared for a long print. Depending on whether I was printing with PLA or PETG, total print time for a complete bank was between 26 and 28 hours.
