Catch More Fish
thingiverse
Automate your ice fishing experience with an innovative hook setter! This device dramatically boosts your hookup rate by setting the hook automatically when a fish bites the bait. It's also more fish-friendly as it prevents swallowing of the hook during catch and release, ensuring better hook placements. The setup is simple: once triggered, lift the rod out of the holder for conventional fishing. The hook-setting mechanism works via a zigzag catch at the rod end that's released when the fish tugs on the bait, pulling the line. This action straightens the spring-loaded rod and pulls the line at speed, setting the hook. Crafted with ProtoParadigm's Plastic T-Slot for legs, this device offers collapsible design with quick-release clamps, making it easy to transport. It's compatible with reel handles on either side of your rod and has been tested for effectiveness. The zigzag catch can also be used for shore fishing with a regular rod and holder. Replication is budget-friendly, and using this device in conjunction with "Fish-On Now!" enhances your fishing experience while ensuring fish safety. However, exercise caution when operating the device, avoiding facial injuries or rod damage by following instructions carefully. Check local fishing regulations to ensure compliance, as some areas may not permit automatic hook setters. To assemble, print six 100mm T-Slot pieces and use customized prints for pivot joint plates, quick-release clamp plates, a rod holder, and a hook setter clip. Follow the outlined assembly instructions, ensuring proper gluing and fitting of parts. Attach fishing line to the hook setter clip (with at least 8lb test strength) and mount the device on your rod. Finally, adjust the tension and positioning for optimal performance, and enjoy increased catch success! Remember, use the device responsibly and follow safety guidelines for a rewarding fishing experience.
