Catan Water Tile Sea Monster Variant
thingiverse
I was inspired to create some sea monster tiles based on my love of old maps and the "Here be Monsters" concept often thought of with early exploration. Especially when playing Seafarers, I think exploration should include some sense of wonder. If anyone has a Catan variant that somehow incorporates sea monsters, other than my plan to randomly draw these out of a bag, please comment so I can include a link. These Catan water tiles with sea monsters are based on Dakanzla's 2.0 magnetic board. The water tiles used are his. The sea monsters are from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:224253, https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3018884 (the body and head only), https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2906917, https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4598431, https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:539669/files (head with tentacles only), https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:539669/files (hindquarters), and https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3018884 (the tentacles only), respectively. The splash in the kraken hind quarters is from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4630402/files, while the destroyed ship with the final underwater kraken is from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3894038 Important Note: For the completely underwater kraken, the tentacles are straight up, not the prettiest for sure. As instructed in the source model, these are meant to be heated up and bent as desired. You can even throw in an extra ship or two if you want. ; ) If any items I've used are from someone else's project, as in the original source, please let me know. And I'll post these correctly as remixes when I figure out how.
