Catan Traders & Bararians Lasercut Board and Pieces 5-6 Player Extension
thingiverse
This is a lasercut file for the Settlers of Catan Traders & Barbarians 5-6 Player Extension, designed to bring the game experience to life with precision-cut pieces. The files are available in both Rhino .3dm and Illustrator .ai formats, making it easy to edit or modify using these popular design tools. To get started, simply download the file from this platform, and you'll be ready to create your own custom Settlers of Catan experience. Don't worry if you're not familiar with design software - a free trial version of Rhino is available for download on their website, making it easy to try out without committing to a purchase. In addition to the lasercut pieces, you'll need to source extra cards to complete your game. These can be found on the Catan Shop website at https://catanshop.com/barbarians-and-traders-replacement-game-cards. For those looking for an official rules guide, the Catan website has a comprehensive resource available at https://www.catan.com/service/game-rules. Here are a few key notes to keep in mind when working with this lasercut file: - The bridges, knights, barbarians, camels, and wagons are designed as two-piece sets. This means you'll need to glue the set piece onto the base piece if you're using 1/8" material. Alternatively, you could use 1/4" material and skip the base pieces altogether. - For the board pieces, I plan to use 1/4" material and color the hexes afterwards with a custom mixture. You can achieve similar results by using 1/8" material for the roads, settlements, cities, build cost cards, and harbor markers. - Black lines indicate areas that should be cut, while red lines represent etched designs. This information is clearly marked in both the .3dm and .ai files. - The regular terrain hexes feature a center hole, which allows you to place number tokens within. For desert hexes, simply use the skeleton token without a number. - Some hexes are attached together to form rivers, while others have no center holes due to their specific design requirements. Don't worry - these pieces won't need to be shuffled with the rest of your game components. As I work on completing this project, I'll provide more photos and updates so you can see the finished product.
