This innovative tool was designed to work seamlessly with Catan tile pieces and 2 cylindrical magnets. Check out the original design here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2093075. I recently purchased newer 3 mm cylindrical magnets, which proved to be a bit more challenging to insert by hand due to their slightly tighter fit. To make the process easier, I created this object to assist with placing the magnets in tile bases. To secure the magnets firmly in place, I used 35mm M3 bolts and paired them with M3 nuts in slots. A large slot on top allows for a series of magnets to be loaded in one at a time. Next, simply position the tile in the center and tighten all four screws down tightly. This clever design also ensures that the polarity is correct every time, eliminating any potential mistakes. To guarantee consistency, I recommend gluing (strong glue or epoxy work well) a sacrificial magnet to the end of each bolt. The included blend file allows users to modify the design as needed. Remember, it's essential to ensure that the magnets on opposite sides have reversed polarity for optimal performance.
