Organizer with lid for Catan Junior resource and Coco cards

Inspired by the designs made by pyrophreek and littlebignita I set out to design an organizer for the 2014 edition of Catan Junior that would fit my needs.

The design goals were that the card holder should fit in the original box and be able to withstand being transported (by kids), hence the layout, size and the lid.

The (optional) lid could be somewhat tight, depending on the printer, settings, filament, etc., so I've included STLs for three lids with different tolerances (ranging from 0.2mm to 0.4mm).
Should you find that this abundance does not satisfy your needs (or if you've thought of an awesome remix) the Autodesk 123D files are at your disposal (links to Thingiverse below).

Print Settings

Printer:
3Drag

Rafts:
Doesn't Matter

Supports:
No

Resolution:
0.1-0.4

Infill:
0/10

Notes:
The need for rafts and brim are dependent on your choice of material and printer.
The posted example was printed using PrimaWOOD™ from 3D Prima with a 0.4 nozzle, 0.2 layers, 2 perimeters, 4 solid top/bottom layers with 45mm/s (perimeter) speed on a heated bed coated with 3D-EEZ using no brim or raft.

YMMV

How I Designed This

As I couldn't be bothered to dig up the scanner I drew the desired shape on a piece of paper , photographed it and used an online converter to get a svg file I could use.
Imported the file into 123D and did some cleanup of the sketch before extruding a 3D model for test printing. Additional tweaking of the sketch and then extruding the final 3D models.

All trademarks, trade names, and product names on this page are the property of their respective owners.

Catan Junior Organizer with lid (2014 Edition) by Oggelboggel

Published on April 27, 2016

www.thingiverse.com/thing:1525571
