Proudly introducing my low-poly Settlers of Catan model, now available for download! This model is designed to bring a new level of excitement to your gaming nights and bring a touch of style to your game table with a sleek design. My goal was essentially to design a magnetic and minimalistic catan board to improve its user experience and aesthetics. I decided to redesign all visual aspects of the game but keep the core game mechanics and rules. Settlers of Catan is a classic board game that has been captivating players for decades. In this game, players build and trade resources on the island of Catan to become the dominant force. With elements of strategy and luck, every game is unique and provides endless hours of fun. This Settlers of Catan set includes all the pieces and cards necessary to play the classic board game. The zip-file includes: -6 different terrain hex tiles, representing different biomes such as mountain, forest, pasture, field, hills, and desert. -Frame pieces to surround the island of Catan. -Numbers as well as the robber pawn and trading ports -Player pieces, representing each player's settlements, cities, and roads. -Resource cards, representing brick, wheat, wood, ore and sheep. -Development cards, representing progress, victory points, and special actions. -Card holder for custom cards -Printing, painting and assembly instructions Each hex-tile consists of one detailed terrain-piece and one hex-base. I have designed all pieces to be easily printed without support. You also have several options to suit your needs: Magnets or no magnets? For my board (as displayed) I used magnets, which I also would recommend. But if you don’t want magnets, I have made a version that is thinner and faster to print without holes for the magnets. Paint or filament color? If you don’t like painting, it is possible to print different pieces in different colors as I’ve separated all the parts for an easier painting approach. You can also print the terrains fully assembled to avoid glue, but it may be harder to paint it that way. I did paint the parts with acrylic paint after a coat of base-layer spray paint and finished it off with a clear-coat for that extra shine and durability. How did I print my cards? I found the image files here, modified them and added text. This website is great for making custom card games. You can customize the front and back of each card. I chose The Mini European playing cards (44m x 67mm) All detailed printing, painting and assembly instructions will be included in the zip-file.
