I have used the base of Dakanzla:

Basic version of Catan

Expansion Seafarers

Expansion Cities & Knights

My goal is to give an overview of the project, including handy files and links, to build as good and fast as possible this incredible 3D project of Dakanzla. The first file is the project overview in Excel. Here you can track all files, numbers, statistics, and your complete build overview. Start with the dashboard and fill in your preferred language, how many players you want to print out, and which expansion you want to have. Based on these parameters, the file will calculate what you need and how many of it you need. (Currently, still work in progress). Remind you, I'm Dutch, so we work in the metric system, in grams and in euros. Feel free to alter to your needs. The file is:

Template 3D Project Catan.xlsx Use this to track your progress.

Board Tiles
All board tiles can be downloaded individually from Thingiverse, see links above. I assume you want to print out everything needed for the Base Game, Seafarers and Cities & Knights. This means that you need seven tiles for each resource. For all resources except wood, I have made a seven tiles file.

Catan Tiles Brick 7.stl Tiles for the resource Brick or Clay, depends on how you name it.

Catan Tiles Ore 7.stl Tiles for the resource Ore or Iron.

Catan Tiles Sheep 7.stl Tiles for the resource Sheep or Wool.

Catan Tiles Wheat 7.stl Tiles for the resource Wheat or Grain.

Catan Tiles Wood 4.stl 4 Tiles for the resource Lumber or Wood.

Catan Tiles Wood 3.stl 3 Tiles for the resource Lumber or Wood.

The reason for the two "wood" files is that the individual hexagon for wood is already quite large, in comparison to the rest of the files. Splitting it sounded like the best plan, to avoid excessively big files in my printer. You also need desert tiles, pure water tiles, water tiles with the possibility to put harbors on top, gold tiles, and the barbarian travel tile for Cities & Knights.

Catan Tiles Desert 5.stl Tiles for desert. You need one for the base game, but 4 extra for Seafarers.

Catan Tiles Water 14.stl 14 Tiles for the resource Water.

Catan Tiles Water 11.stl 11 Tiles for the resource Water.

Catan Tiles Water Harbor 14.stl Tiles for the resource Wheat or Grain.

Catan Tiles Water Harbor 9.stl 4 Tiles for the resource Lumber or Wood.

Catan Tiles Gold 4.stl 4 Golden tiles for Seafarers.

Catan Tile Barbarian Counter.stl The barbarian travel tile for Cities & Knights.

You need 25 tiles for water, which I have split in 14 and 11. You need 23 tiles for water and harbors, which I have split in 14 and 9. The harbors you need for the water tiles are 11 general 3:1 resources, and for each resource 2 2:1 and for wool 4. I combined them in general files.

BA Harbor 2_1 6.stl You need to print this 2 times, the harbors are cumulated in this file.

BA Harbor 3_1 6.stl 14 Tiles for the resource Water.

BA Harbor 3_1 5.stl 11 Tiles for the resource Water.

Put them all together and you have a staggering 93 tiles! Together with the player tiles (see underneath) for progress you will need 111 frames to put the tiles in and to put the magnets in. The frames are bigger and therefore only 7 fit in one file. With these 111 frames you need 666 magnets...

Catan Frames 7.stl 16 times print these frames and pins.

Player Pieces
The Player Pieces are made per player. You just print as many of them as you need (in my case, I made six of them). There are in total seven files you need to print out:

BA_Catan_Player_Set.stl The base set for Catan. You have 5 settlements, 4 cities, 15 roads and 9 crossings per player.

BA_Catan_Building_Costs_Card.stl or BA-SF-CK Catan Building Costs Card.stl Per player you can print out the building costs card as a reference. My preference is the last one, because every game is on this card. Th other one is solely for the Base Game.

SF_Player_set_15_ships.stl For the Seafarers edition you also need 15 ships.

CK_Catan_Player_Set_1.stl The Cities & Knights expansions gives you 6 additional knights (2 for lvl 1, 2 for lvl 2 and 2 for lvl3), 6 knight-activators, 3 metropoles and 3 city-walls.

CK_Player_Set_Trade.stl This is for tracking the progress of city improvements. (this is for Trade)

CK_Player_Set_Politics.stl This is for tracking the progress of city improvements. (this is for Politics)

CK_Player_Set_Science.stl This is for tracking the progress of city improvements. (this is for Science)

This step will give you 510 pieces, which you must prime, color and clear coating afterwards. The basic colors are White, Red, Orange, Blue (and for 5-6 Green and Brown). I did not like the brown color and replaced that for Light blue. I don't spray everything with an airbrush and decided to make it slightly less difficult. I bought the Tamiya Color spray (i added the link, and went for TS-12, TS-15, TS-23, TS-26, TS-49, and TS-52). As an extra, I made all player pieces with an additional yellow color from Humbrol (nr. 69). Not only for the metropoles, but also for the roofs. The base color of the ships is the same color as the sea-tiles. For now, I have decided on Ocean Grey/Blue AS-31 of Tamiya. The white primer and varnish are also from Tamiya. references: Building Cost Card - by Tsoule April 28, 2020 (for all expansions and base game) Building Cost Card - by willnickisch June 18, 2015 (for base game) Tamiya Paint Sprays Humbrol No 69 Yellow

Board Pieces
The board pieces are luckily a lot less. Only 48 in total and that is not that much. I cheated a little bit with this because I bought the 2 dices and the special event dice. The link to a Dutch webshop is below, however, you can find it wherever you want in the world :-). The two files you need (and one bonus) are:

BA Catan Number Tokens.stl You need to print this twice for all extensions. If you only use the Base Game, just print it once...

BA - SF - CK Board Pieces.stl This is a collection of board pieces. It includes the Robber (I don't like the sandstorm from dakanzla), so I used a multi material robber, The pirate, the Barbarian ship, the trader, and the longest road & largest army trophy.

BA - SF - CK longest_turn_trophy.stl If you play with terribly slow players (like we do), you can also print this one as an extra gimmick. It will deduct 2 victory points :-).

The 48 pieces you must prime, color and clear coating afterwards. The basic colors that I chose are White, Red, Black, and Gold. I bought Tamiya Color spray (i added the link, and went for TS-26, TS-49, TS-14, and TS-21). I sprayed the longest road, the largest army the longest turn, and the merchant gold, the tokens white with red for the 6's and 8's and black for the other numbers. The robber, the pirate, and the barbarian ship I sprayed black. Still thinking about extra colors for the board pieces, just for fun. references: Event Dice for Cities and Knights at Spelspul.nl Catan Board Game Number Tokens by bozzman February 05, 2020 Multi material catan robber by Jakwiebus July 23, 2019 Catan longest road trophy by jornd May 28, 2017 Catan largest army trophy by jornd May 28, 2017 Catan longest turn trophy by asay008 June 05, 2020 Tamiya Paint Sprays

Miscellaneous
I also made a storage unit for the storage of this project. Although it is stored in a big wooden box (50*35*25) is used a lot of boxes and containers. Here is a list of my files:

Catan Trophees box.stl Storagebox for the catan trophees of longest road, biggest army and slowest turn... 15 cm long and 5 cm width.. Custom made by myself including logo.

unit-box.stl Needed 4 times to store 3 times the pieces needed for progress of cities and knights and 1 for storage of the board pieces and dices.

Catan Logo Modified.stl Used for the player boxes and the catan trophees box (don't forget to scale down to fit on the boxes)

Multiple trays *.stl Used for printing out the card holders including the current logo for the resources and progress cards.

Cylinder-remix 5-6 player.stl and lid.stl Storage tube for the number chips

Storage lid hexes *.stl Used for storage on top of the hexes for protection and storage

catan-girder-rack.stl The storage container to hold all hexes together (probably need 12 of them

Storage box.stl & Storage lid.stl & Storage insert.stl 6 times the storage box for player pieces. I enriched the lid with the logo per color glued to it.

So happy printing with these ones. references: Catan Logo by dassmilytier for player boxes Storage boxes Nicholas B Number holder (tube) by JimmerJammer Storage unit for dices and cities & knights by KevinsHope Tile holder for hexes by thetrebor Storage protection for hexes by Tarpon907 Card trays for all cards including cities and knights by Dazwel this is the end, hold your breath and count to 10............
