Cat Scratch Post Base
thingiverse
We invested in a feline scratching post that's essentially a cardboard cylinder wrapped in carpet secured to a padded plank. The tube is anchored to the board via a compact plastic base containing a nut which screws onto a bolt running through a hole in the board. The initial base was alarmingly short, so our cats promptly dislodged it on the first day. This revamped version boasts sufficient height and snugness within the cylinder that it will no longer come loose. It's astonishing that anyone envisioned the original base enduring for an extended period. The 3D-printed base fits perfectly within the tube and functions impeccably. The threads hold exceptionally well, and our cats have thus far been unable to dislodge it! Now I merely need to locate where my kids misplaced the other arm and feathers...
