I saw @neuttrino's clever door bolt and thought it was just what our mischievous cat needed to keep out of the cabinets. However, I soon realized that their design wouldn't quite fit my situation, so I decided to give it a complete overhaul. This project requires #6 x 1-5/8" countersunk wood screws for assembly. To make any necessary adjustments, you can access and modify the FreeCAD source file included with this model. Simply update the parameters in the accompanying Spreadsheet to suit your specific needs.
