Cat-o'-lantern - cat shaped jack-o'-lantern
thingiverse
A cat-shaped jack-o'-lantern inspired by the ceramic pumpkins from Evan and Katelyn's Fluid Acrylic Pouring on a Pumpkin stream. Those pumpkins were sent in by someone named "Holly", but I searched and searched and couldn't find any version available for sale online. I couldn't live without a cat-o'-lantern in my life, so I modeled these.I've uploaded two versions:"Carved": the pumpkin is hollow, and like a traditional jack-o'-lantern, the cat face is carved all the way through the pumpkin shell. Unlike a traditional jack-o'-lantern, the candle access hole is in the bottom, not the top. I included a "base" file you can use to close the pumpkin back up, but I haven't printed it myself. I think it looks fine without, but it might help with light leaking under the model. This version has a few overhangs that can be tricky to print, but the "fangs" of the cat caused me the largest amount of trouble. I printed a few versions and never got great results - for the final, painted version in the photo, I ended up printing a separate set of fangs, filing down the mouth for a good fit, and gluing the separate fangs on with some spare support material acting as a bridge on the inside of the pumpkin. I've included one of the fangs in a separate file in case you need to go this route. Print two of these, and make sure to mirror one of them in your slicer software so they'll fit properly."Embossed": the pumpkin is solid, and the cat face is cut as a shallow emboss on the surface of the pumpkin. If you don't plan to light this up with a candle, I recommend you print this version and just paint the face for contrast. This version is much easier to print.
