I had an overwhelming desire to create some Dungeons & Dragons content. I stumbled upon a fantastic character concept/illustration on Pinterest that really caught my eye. The artwork was inspired by the incredible talent of Kyoung Hwan Kim, whose work can be found on ArtStation at https://www.artstation.com/tahra. The sculpture was created in Zbrush and I attempted to use the Zremesher tool to convert it into a low-poly mesh for baking. While it wasn't perfect, it still managed to yield some decent results. Next, I moved over to Blender with both the low- and high-poly meshes. I UV mapped the low-poly mesh and then proceeded to bake and texture everything in Substance Painter. Finally, I brought all the elements together in Blender to complete the project. The entire character was sculpted in Zbrush, taking around 20 hours to complete. The weapon and ground effects were added in Blender, requiring a mere two hours of work. Meanwhile, the textures were crafted in Substance Painter over the course of six hours.
