The cat was getting fat due to my excessive feeding habits, which only worsened by giving in to its constant demands for more food. According to the veterinarian's instructions, our feline friend required 1 dl of high-quality cat food per day, divided into two equal portions: 0.5 dl in the morning and 0.5 dl in the evening. This straightforward approach made it simple to measure out the right amount of food for my cat. By filling the measuring cup to its brim, I could easily estimate that it held approximately 0.7 dl of food. However, by saving about 1 cm from the top, the measurement would be spot on at 0.5 dl - just enough to meet our cat's daily nutritional needs. It is possible that your cat may require more or less food than my feline companion, so it's essential to consult with a veterinarian to determine the ideal serving size for your pet.
