I built a custom excavator based on a modified Volvo, but it just didn't cut it so I decided to swap out the entire body, undercarriage, and cabin to give it a sleek Caterpillar design. I also rigged it with a standard-sized servo for the boom, opting for a heavy-duty 12 kg/cm model from Hobby King that proved to be more than sufficient.
