Cat Door Frame
thingiverse
I designed the Cat Door frame system. The main component, a wooden board, was created through compound layering of three matching boards, with each surface being precisely four-tenths of an inch thick. This core was then bonded using high-strength glue. To achieve optimal structural integrity, the sash, measuring 78.74 inches tall, was carefully split into three manageable sections: two pieces measuring seven inches in length and one piece measuring six inches long. Next, lower attachment parts were securely attached to these base components. In order to reinforce the assembly, I opted for the use of 0.125-inch thick Acrylic sheets. To complete the build, Door side elements and bottom surfaces were carefully bonded together using specialized Acrylic adhesives. Due to inherent printer variability in 3D print technology, adjustments may be required for parts exhibiting significant size discrepancies, such as width being reduced by only a millimeter or two during printing.
