MaakMijnldee's cat figure, seen as thing:35495, is asymmetric; it transforms into a left-facing cat via mirror reflection that is not superimposable on the original right-facing cat. This distinctive motif makes it an attractive choice for representing 17 plane groups. Four coasters for dual extrusion are provided to illustrate plane group p1, p2, pm, and pg, constructed directly on the build surface to achieve pleasing smoothness. Four pairs of STL files exist: cat_coaster_p1.stl & cat_decoration_p1.stl, cat_coaster_p2.stl & cat_deocration_p2.stl, cat_coaster_pm.stl & cat_decoration_pm.stl, and cat_coaster_pg.stl & cat_decoration_pg.stl. Cat_coasters_01 used SCAD to create the STL files, and coasters_dxf_01.zip contains images. More designs are expected in future. The coasters measure 110mm in diameter and print in approximately two hours with one shell and 10% infill. These coasters can be employed as teaching aids, demonstrating reflection lines (in red) and glide lines (in blue), which are part of plane group symmetry elements, with PDF files included for further illustration.
