Cat Claw Caps
thingiverse
Human protects their home from destructive scratching with ease by using this innovative alternative to declawing. A game-changer for cat owners, it ensures your pet remains safe and sound without compromising their health. Instructions are simple: Apply super glue carefully to the inside of the cap, then attach it firmly to the cat's nail, pressing down gently until the claw is fully extended. As the glue dries, keep the claw in its extended position. It's essential not to get any glue on the sensitive skin above the nail bed called the Ungual Crest, as this may hinder the nail from growing properly. When your pet sheds their old nails after about four weeks, the cap will easily come off. For a more comfortable feel, you can try dipping the printed tips in hot glue beforehand. However, this step is completely optional and not necessary at all. Thanks to the versatility of my Makerbot dual printer, it takes approximately eight minutes to print a batch of eight caps. By setting the printer to 10% infill, two shells, and .20mm height, I'm able to achieve the perfect balance between speed and quality.
