Cat and Mouse Automaton
thingiverse
I originally designed a wooden version of this project, but I've now created a 3D printable automaton Cat and Mouse toy instead. The mouse requires support during printing, while the rest of the model can be printed without supports. Printed with PLA material at 215 degrees Celsius, using 0.3 mm layers and 15% infill density. Printing time is approximately 8 hours at a speed of 40 mm per second. Some fine-tuning may be necessary to achieve smooth operation, as I'm still working on calibrating the tolerance settings. To view the finished product, check out this YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJh3iA7pwR8. For a comparison with the wooden version, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLn33RfbRfM Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 clone Rafts: Not necessary Resolution: 0.3 mm Infill: 15% Notes: The mouse must be printed with supports to ensure proper assembly. A small amount of super glue can help hold the model together permanently.
