CAT-40 TOOL TAG HOLDER

CAT-40 TOOL TAG HOLDER

thingiverse

This is a storage compartment for tool tags that identify CAT-40 toolholders with their associated tools when they're not in the machine. When the tools are loaded into the machine and usually into the toolchanger, the tag is removed and placed into this holder in the corresponding slot. This makes it easy to keep track of tools and associate them with their measured lengths, which is recorded on the tag using a label or a Sharpie. My machine can hold 16 tools, but the design can be adapted for other sizes if needed. I'm not offering custom modifications, so don't ask me to do it. The magnetic tape was purchased from Amazon, and the tool tags were bought from MSC. These items can also be found elsewhere. I printed this in PETG, but using a different material is okay. The design was created on a Prusa i3 Mk3 at 0.3mm layer height. This project was inspired by John Saunders of NYCCNC and Saunders Machine Works, as well as Jay Pierson of Pierson Workholding. You can see the design in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edVR86oIMaM I hope you find this useful.
