CAT 40 Tool Holders
thingiverse
Unless a stroke of genius strikes, this set is now considered feature complete, with updates limited to fixing flaws. Recently, a video posted by James at Clough42 caught my eye. It showcased how he creates and prints tool-drawer organizers for his CNC-converted mill. The concept was intriguing, so I adapted it to fit my larger CAT-40 holders. To achieve uniformity in overall length while minimizing filament usage, I pocketed surfaces where possible, resulting in a convenient place to store mini-torx, spare screws, and other small items. Dimensions were based on industry standards wherever feasible, but my primary focus was on fitting my specific tooling. Although I plan to add more holders to this setup, I won't be incorporating variants for other standards like NMTB, BT, or Tormach style. Please note that while the rear slot is designed for pull-studs, my machine doesn't require them, and they're not installed. As a result, I can't guarantee that a pull-stud will clear the slot or remain protected from impact. You know the feeling of showing off your work only to realize you've overlooked numerous flaws at the critical moment? Yeah, that's me every time I upload something!
