I needed an enclosure for my RatRig Core XY-printer. The printer is used for ABS from time to time, and I wanted a solution that is: - economic (it's a hobby after all) - effective (45°C in the chamber is the target) - does not block access to the printer. The machine is brand-new, and I am still tinkering with it. The most effective way to enclose a Core-XY is simply to wrap it up in a plastic sheet. Since the extruder and drag-chain protrude on the upside, there is a need for a roof structure to support the sheet. I constructed a simple pillar that mounts to the metal joiners on the cube frame. Two wooden slats are required to complete the roof construction. The pillars are mounted with 2x M5x12 screws. They have a hole for an M3-screw on the top so you can tap the wood and screw the wood into the pillar. To protect the sheet from tearing, print a plastic cap for each corner, too. They have a hole and accomodate a wood screw, take what's available. Bill of material: printed parts: 4x plastic pillar 4x edge protector other parts: 8x M5x12 4x M3X20 or whatever gets through your wood slats 4x self-cutting screws, I used Spax 3x12 because I had them 2x wood slats, about 4cm longer than the printer width (54cm for my printer)
