Castles of Mad King Ludwig Tile & Storage Trays
thingiverse
The boardgame: Castles of Mad King Ludwig had a critical lack of storage or tile tray options. So, this is my first attempt at creating a functional tile tray that allows the player to keep all tiles stacked together neatly. For additional storage, I employ rubber bands around the cardboard piece on top to securely hold the tiles in place. I'm excited to post pictures soon, showcasing both designs successfully printed and perfectly fitting within the board game setup. A notable mention: "Large_Tiles_Tray_Version1.stl" was my initial design creation, which exhibits a certain flimsiness along with somewhat cumbersome tile removal – improvements will be made in subsequent versions. On the other hand, "Small_Tiles_Tray_Version1.stl" is an upgraded iteration that has achieved outstanding results. Design notes: This project design is specifically tailored for optimal layer height of .3 mm My prints turned out beautifully with PLA @ .3 @ 10% infill levels. Considering the current print size, I acknowledge that some printers might encounter difficulty in handling these large components. My trusty 12" Prusa i3v had no trouble printing this design. However, as an alternative option for smaller printers, cutting these parts in half might be necessary – any feedback is welcome and would encourage me to upload suitable alternatives.
