Human: I absolutely adored sillyfrog's original Overlay creation, but noticed that a solid shake could still mess up everything. So I went ahead and remixed it. This design underwent several transformations, but the goal was to use only as much material as necessary, and actually attach the overlay to the mat to ensure it would stay put for good. After experimenting with various designs that clamped to the edge, I decided to go with the idea of simply punching two small holes in the mat and snapping the overlay onto those to keep it stable. Yes, you read that right... this design requires using a holepunch on your player mats - sacrilege, I know. With careful punching of the holes, you can get it so the overlay works perfectly on both sides of the mat just fine. I tested this print on all my mats and it works great for both sides of all of them. I feel the end result is absolutely worth the hole punching. To use the overlay, simply follow these steps: 1) Punch 2 holes as shown in the picture with the red circles. I found that the holes may not quite be centered above and below those hexes - it depends on the exact printing of that mat. 2) Place the pins on the back side of the mat. Line them up with the holes and snap them to the overlay. 3) 4) Enjoy your rewards I did find the fit can be very snug, so you may need to do a small amount of sanding on the holes for the overlay. Make sure to let the print cool completely or the hex grid will warp.
