This model was created by MiniWorld3D collaborator Joel Ristol, aka @1.6_3dart The Castle of Montsoriu is one of the most prominent gothic fortresses of the Crown of Aragon. It is located near the towns of Breda and Arbúcies, in the Montseny National Park, in Catalonia, northeastern Spain. It was home of the viscounts of Cabrera for almost 500 years, being first attested of in the 10th Century, and mostly abandoned in the late 1400's when the noble family moved their residence to other palaces. It fell in disrepair in the next centuries, only used as temporary garrisons & further damaged by constant wars. It was finally "rediscovered" in the 1920's as a historical and cultural attraction, but it was not until the 1980's and early 2000's that proper government & local support established institutions and funds for its repair and maintenance. It opened to the public as a tourist attraction on 2011 (from Wikipedia). MiniWorld3D is excited to bring this model to life as a homage to all the people of Catalonia.
