Drone survey conducted over Castle Hill, Meams, Angus. This compact fortification occupies a rugged outcropping ridge forming the summit of Castle Hill to the WNW of Meams farm. Interior dimensions remain unrecorded, but it includes a small inner enclosure at the very summit, surrounded by cliffs along its SSE and NNW flanks, with outer ramparts spanning the ridge's spine to block access from the ENE and WSW. Excluding the small inner enclosure, the fort's interior measures approximately 20 meters in breadth and likely extends about 90 meters WSW from where the upper ridge surface converges at a narrow point on the ENE (1.7 hectares). The defenses at the WSW end consist of two ramparts situated 14 meters apart, with the inner one forming a stony scarp ranging from 1 to 3 meters high. Entrance is located on the SW side. Several small enclosures have been constructed within the rubble of the inner wall.
