Castillo del Vinalopó
sketchfab
Ruins of an old Arab fortress from the 12th to 13th centuries perched on a nearby cliff near the birthplace of the Vinalopó River, within the Sierra Mariola Natural Park. The east wall of the keep tower and several sections of the wall are preserved. It is a small fortification that served as a refuge for inhabitants of nearby farmsteads, likely built in the 12th and 13th centuries, shortly before these lands were annexed by James I in 1248.
