As head and Brotherhood Champion of the Purifier Order, Crowe stands as a shining exemplar of the Grey Knights' noble ideals -– by their measure, he is a flawless soul, not merely resistant to Chaos's temptations but utterly immune to them. It is fortunate that this is so, for Garran bears a burden greater than any of his brothers: the Blade of Antwyr, a cursed relic of unimaginable evil that constantly threatens him with physical and spiritual peril by tempting him with promises of Chaotic power or seeking to enslave his will through black sorcery. Even in the face of such dangers, Crowe remains vigilant, for the sword's sibilant whispers echo ceaselessly through his mind, offering to augment its strength with his own in pursuit of victory. Many men would seize such an opportunity, believing their will strong enough to control the sword. Yet no matter how dire the hour or desperate the battle, Crowe has never yielded; his thoughts and actions remain his own. He is the warden of the blade, incorruptible and inviolable, and will continue so until the day of his passing. Some Grand Masters believe that Crowe embodies a dormant strain of the Chapter's gene-seed, a piece of the Emperor that has awakened and taken root within him. This quality grants Crowe a unique perspective on the world, as he does not perceive Chaos in the same manner as others.
