Cast Mold Mosquito Silicone Sock
thingiverse
I went on a mission to find a silicone sock for my beloved Mosquito hotend from Slice engineering, but unfortunately, they didn't have one available. So, I took matters into my own hands and created a mold to cast one out of heat-resistant 2k silicone. I used Trollfactory TFC, which worked flawlessly. My next step was to prepare the mold, which had two holes in it - one facing upwards. I injected the premixed silicone into the mold using a syringe, and as soon as I saw the silicone coming out of the second hole, I quickly taped up the first hole with duct tape or something similar. This allowed me to inject a bit more silicone through the second hole, ensuring that all corners were properly filled. The layer height was crucial in this process - I found 0.12 to be the best suited, but it might also work with 0.16 to 0.2 layers.
